Odisha’s young athletes continued to shine at the 40th National Junior Athletics Championships held at Kalinga Stadium, with multiple medals on the board. On the second day of the championship, Alokika Swain, a 16-year-old javelin thrower from Jajatsinghpur, clinched a bronze medal in the U-18 Girls’ Javelin event. Alokika showcased her strength and technique with a best throw of 47.56 metres, finishing third amidst stiff national competition.

In a proud moment for Odisha’s sporting community, rising badminton star Swetaparna Panda has been named the winner of the 33rd Ekalabya Puraskar for 2025. The award, which recognizes outstanding contributions by young sportspersons from the state, was announced by the Ekalabya Puraskar Committee after deliberations by a distinguished panel of jury members from various sectors.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha is all set to welcome the finest table tennis talent from across Asia as it hosts the 28th IITF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Team Championships at the Athletics Centre of Kalinga Stadium starting this Saturday. This prestigious tournament marks the return of the Asian Team Championships to India after a gap of 16 years and is also the largest international table tennis event ever organized in Odisha.

In an inspiring initiative to take Odisha’s culture and tourism to the global stage, two young men from Baripada, Kumaresh Nayak and Nihar Ranjan Nanda have embarked on a remarkable journey across Sri Lanka to promote Odisha Tourism and strengthen the historic cultural ties between the two regions. The duo conducted a week-long promotional campaign across major Sri Lankan cities including Colombo, Galle, Mirissa, Matara, Wellawaya, Ella, Nanuoya, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Dambulla, and Sigiriya.

In preparation for the grand celebration of Bali Jatra 2025, one of Odisha’s most awaited and historic cultural festivals, the Cuttack district administration has announced the Bali Jatra ground as a ‘No Drone Zone’ from November 1 to November 15. The decision aims to ensure public safety, security, and smooth management of the event, which is expected to attract more than 50 lakh visitors from across the country and abroad.
