BCPPER Set to Transform Odisha’s Economic Landscape with Integrated Planning, Investment and Employment Opportunities

The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradeep Economic Region (BCPPER) project has taken a major step forward after the Odisha Cabinet approved amendments to the Odisha Development Authorities Act (ODA Act), 1982, paving the way for the creation of Economic Region Development Authorities (ERDAs).

The move is expected to enable integrated planning beyond traditional municipal boundaries and support coordinated development across the region. The BCPPER region will focus on better coordination of infrastructure, mobility networks, public services and investment opportunities while creating a roadmap for faster economic growth.

The economic plan for the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradeep Economic Region has been prepared in collaboration with NITI Aayog, outlining a long-term strategy for regional development and growth.

The region brings together the strengths of key urban and economic centres—Bhubaneswar’s technology ecosystem, Cuttack’s commercial base, Puri’s tourism potential and Paradip’s port-led industries—to build a stronger growth corridor.

The initiative aims to attract investments, generate employment opportunities and create a more connected and economically vibrant Odisha.
