Teen Author Aadarsh Tripathy Releases Debut Book ‘The Public’s President’

In a proud moment for Odisha and India’s literary landscape, teen author Aadarsh Tripathy, a Grade 12 student from Odisha and an alumnus of SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, has made his literary debut with a thought-provoking and timely book titled The Public’s President. The book captures the life, challenges, and Presidency of Droupadi Murmu, the 15th President of India, who holds the distinction of being the first President from Odisha and the first tribal woman to occupy the highest constitutional office in the country. The book was officially launched at a special event hosted at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, on the eve of President Murmu completing three years in office. The release ceremony was graced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Cuttack Member of Parliament Bhartruhari Mahtab, and Chairperson of SAI International Education Group, Silpi Sahoo. The event marked a celebration of young authorship, national pride, and the inspiring journey of a leader who has emerged as a symbol of inclusive progress.

Published by Aakar Books, The Public’s President is more than a biography; it is a civic narrative that aims to create awareness among students and young citizens about the evolving role of the Presidency in India’s democratic and constitutional framework. Written in clear and accessible language, the book explores how Rashtrapati Bhavan symbolizes more than power — it represents public service, constitutional values, and leadership with purpose. Aadarsh Tripathy’s work reflects a deep engagement with democratic institutions and seeks to ignite the imagination of the youth to view leadership not just as a title, but as a meaningful commitment to society.

Speaking at the launch, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan praised Aadarsh’s initiative and passion for writing at such a young age. He remarked that in a time when most youth are inclined toward startups and digital ventures, it is inspiring to see a student choose the path of literature and public reflection. He also acknowledged that Droupadi Murmu’s life is one of the finest examples of leadership for today’s generation, rooted in resilience, dignity, and service.

Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab echoed these sentiments, stating that Aadarsh’s book is a powerful blend of fact and narrative. He emphasized that the book reflects a deep sense of Odia pride and is written with a storytelling style that brings facts to life without exaggeration, which he considers the hallmark of a good writer. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson of SAI International Education Group, expressed her admiration for Aadarsh’s journey from a student to a published author. She described the book as not just a tribute to the President but a celebration of India’s living Constitution. According to her, the book gives voice to the aspirations of millions and reminds the youth that leadership is not about power but about purpose and service.

Reflecting on his motivation to write, Aadarsh Tripathy shared that his aim was not to craft a perfect narrative but to uncover the truth behind Droupadi Murmu’s rise — a journey marked by hardship, courage, and conviction. He said her story is not just a personal victory but a symbol of collective hope for marginalized communities and aspiring youth across the country. Her ascent to the Presidency, according to him, signals a turning point in India’s democratic story, encouraging young people to dream big and pursue their goals with determination. Looking ahead, Aadarsh plans to visit schools across Odisha to conduct book reading sessions and interactive discussions with students. His goal is to inspire young minds and foster a greater understanding of constitutional values and leadership responsibilities among the next generation.

The Public’s President by Aadarsh Tripathy is published by Aakar Books and is aimed at students, educators, and anyone interested in the Indian Presidency, democratic leadership, and the extraordinary life of Droupadi Murmu. It provides an insightful lens on the changing nature of India’s top constitutional office and urges the youth to see public service as a noble pursuit. This book stands out not only as a tribute to a historic President but also as a statement of belief — that young voices matter, that leadership can come from the most unexpected places, and that the story of India’s democracy is still being written by its future torchbearers.
