Popular Ollywood Singer Humane Sagar Passes Away
Popular Ollywood singer Humane Sagar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday evening, leaving Odisha’s music fraternity and his fans in deep grief. He was 36. According to Dr. Srikant Behera, Intensivist and ECMO Specialist at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, the singer was admitted on November 14, 2025 with multiple critical health complications, including bilateral pneumonia, acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), dilated cardiomyopathy with severe LV systolic dysfunction, multi organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), refractory shock, severe respiratory failure, anuric acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, hepatopathy, thrombocytopenia, and coagulopathy. Despite advanced treatment and the efforts of a team of specialist doctors, he did not respond to medical interventions and passed away on November 17, 2025.
Humane Sagar was born on November 25, 1990 in Titilagarh, Balangir, into a family deeply rooted in music. His father and grandfather were music directors, and he inherited their musical legacy. Although he initially joined VIMSAR Burla to study MBBS, he left the course during his 1st year to pursue his passion for singing full-time.
His musical breakthrough came in 2012, when he won Season 2 of the popular reality show Voice of Odisha, which brought him widespread recognition. His entry into Ollywood playback singing began in 2015 with the title track of the film Ishq Tu Hi Tu, composed by Abhijit Majumdar. The song became an instant blockbuster and established him as one of the most prominent voices in Odisha.
Over the years, Humane Sagar delivered numerous chart-topping songs, including Tate Gaai Dele, Malka Malka, Dheere Dheere Bhala Paigali, Sabu Najara Lage Prema Najara, Sun Zara, Bhabiba Agaru Pakhare Thibi, Prema Tora Badmaas, Sehzadi O Sehzadi, Mu Pardesi Chadhei, Gote Sua Gote Saari, Tum Mo Love Story, Nishwasa To Bina Chalena and Pyar Bala Hichki. His soulful voice made him one of the most loved playback singers of the new generation.
He sang more than 150 songs in over 50 films, and recorded around 200 album tracks, lending his voice to leading Ollywood actors such as Anubhav Mohanty, Babushan Mohanty, Sabyasachi Mishra and Arindam Roy. His songs consistently resonated with audiences, making him one of the most celebrated voices in the Odia music industry.
His passing coincided with the 23rd death anniversary of Odisha’s legendary musician Akshaya Mohanty, adding a deeper emotional weight to the loss felt across the state. Humane Sagar leaves behind a rich musical legacy, marked by passion, dedication and unforgettable melodies that will continue to inspire music lovers for years to come.
