Shakti Summit Brings 22 States and UTs Together for Stronger Action on Women's Safety and Empowerment

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the national 'Shakti Summit' in Bhubaneswar, bringing together senior officials from 22 States and Union Territories to build unified strategies for women's protection and empowerment. Organised by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, the summit aims to strengthen institutional mechanisms, bridge implementation gaps, and promote successful state-level interventions to ensure women across India can live with dignity and safety.

Highlighting that safety and empowerment must be addressed together rather than in isolation, the conference hosted 29 high-ranking officers alongside NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar and key Odisha administrative leaders. The summit serves as a collaborative platform for the Centre and States to share best practices, enhance cross-state coordination, and establish actionable frameworks to effectively tackle emerging challenges surrounding women's security and rights.
