27 Adventure Tourism Projects Proposed Across Odisha, Puri And Balasore Attract Highest Investor Interest

Odisha is witnessing growing interest in adventure tourism, with 27 investment proposals received under the State government's Go Adventure initiative. The proposals aim to develop land, water and aero-based adventure tourism experiences across multiple districts, strengthening Odisha’s position as an emerging adventure tourism destination.

According to official data, the proposals cover districts including Puri, Balasore, Koraput, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur. The projects focus on expanding adventure tourism infrastructure and introducing new experiences for domestic and international visitors.

Puri has attracted the highest investor interest with 12 proposals, followed by Balasore with six and Koraput with four, reflecting the growing demand for adventure activities in Odisha’s coastal and nature-rich destinations.

Among the total proposals, 16 are for aero-based adventure activities, while 10 focus on water sports, indicating strong interest in developing experiences such as aerial adventures and water-based recreation along the state's diverse landscapes.

Launched in February, the Go Adventure portal has been designed to simplify approvals, licensing and investment for adventure tourism projects. The initiative is a key part of the Odisha Tourism Policy 2026, which aims to establish the state as one of India's leading tourism destinations by 2029.

Officials said the proposed projects are expected to improve tourism infrastructure, attract private investment and create new employment opportunities for local communities. The initiative is also expected to boost the hospitality, transport and tourism sectors while promoting Odisha as a preferred destination for adventure seekers.
